Arup Associates 50

Exhibition design

The design of Arup Associates’ retrospective exhibition, held in their offices in London’s Fitzrovia, utilised a series of plinths and units of various sizes to showcase the practice’s work in a variety of formats, from photography and 3D models to films and interactive displays. The result was an organic display that slotted into the underlying grid of the exhibition space. A 3D colour code on each of the plinths guided visitors through the various decades of Arup Associates’ work and was visually connected with the firm’s 50-year anniversary publication, also designed by CHK. Interactive units, such as tablets and an internal projection area were integrated into the same grid.
